Nestled in a cozy cove off
the west shore of Lake Winnebago is the AirVenture Seaplane Base,
site of the EAA AirVenture "Splash-In". It's the center
of activities for those with an interest in water-based aviation.
Over the years, as EAA has grown, so has participation at the seaplane
base. |
|
| This premium seaplane "spot" is open
to those who attend the AirVenture Convention. However, this is not a
registered seaplane base the remaining 51 weeks of the year. This is private
land; owned by the Vette and Blust Families. |
| In 2007, 119 seaplanes and amphibians
registered during the Fly-In. The 100% volunteer staff at the seaplane
base has again scheduled a number of fun activities throughout the
week. A special Seaplane Base shuttle is operated every day starting
Monday, July 28 through Sunday August 3, 2008. The pick up point
at the main airport is located south of the antique classic area,
in the Amphib parking area. You're invited to see what's going on
and enjoy the unique facet of "water flying" at the AirVenture
Seaplane Base. |

| This site was designed and developed
by pilots and seaplane base volunteers for pilots and seaplane base volunteers.
